World Bronchiectasis Day – July 1st

World Bronchiectasis Day is observed each year on July 1. People living with bronchiectasis, caregivers, clinicians, researchers, and advocates from around the globe unite to raise awareness of and share information about the chronic lung disease.
World Bronchiectasis Day is led by an international planning committee made up of patient advocates, global patient advocacy organizations, professional societies, and leading experts in bronchiectasis care and research. Together, the committee works to increase global awareness, foster collaboration, advance knowledge, and explore solutions to reduce the burden of bronchiectasis for people worldwide.
The committee is co-chaired by Tim Aksamit, M.D., Medical Director of the Bronchiectasis and NTM Association, and Professor James Chalmers, MBChB, PhD, EMBARC Chair and British Lung Foundation Chair of Respiratory Research at the University of Dundee.
