For those who might be interested, here's a study comparing acupuncture and chinese herbs vs. pharmaceutical treatment of bronchiectasis. Both treatments were effective, but herbs + acupuncture fared better in this particular study involving 60 patients. Hopefully similar studies are underway. While holistic therapies generally have fewer side effects, they might not be right for everyone.

Hi, New to the Community and I have a family member, who has MAI.  I'm curious to know if anyone has experience taking LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone) as an adjunct therapy for MAI.  I have been taking LDN for an AI disease myself, so understand what it is and what it does.  Appreciate your input!

Ksmiles123answered the question Inhaler

Ruth, Glad that you are getting it to work. I would recommend using water that has been boils for 10 minutes, let it cool a little. Regular water is not recommended for any device that may enter our lungs. I hope that you feel better soon

Rushasked the question: Eliquis

I was recently diagnosed with a fib and was placed on Eliquis. Today I noticed that the mucis I cough up is bloody, I am wondering if this is a temporary problem that I have to work through or do I need to see if I need to change my medications.

I feel silly. I cannot stop the hiccups since yesterday. I managed to sleep until 3am when they started back up again. Has anyone had this as an issue? If so what did you do to resolve it? I hope and pray this will stop.

Not sure how recent this data is, but according to the ntmfacts website, half of diagnosed NTM lung disease patients reside within 7 states: Florida, New York, Texas, California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Ohio. 1 in 7 NTM lung disease patients resides in Florida. This might not necessarily mean that those states have more NTM bugs than other states. They might just have more doctors looking for NTM when symptoms line up with that possible diagnosis.

I am basically fine.  I have a lot of health issues, one being Bronchiectasis and asthma. My question is, is there anyone that has stated the best place to live with Bronchiectasis? My husband and I feel that the Mayo Clinic would be the best resource for both his and my illnesses.
